Our Story

I fell in love with Martha's Vineyard when I first came here to work during the summer of 2011. Shortly after, I fell in love with my soon-to-be husband, a lifelong islander. The Rolling Bar started as an idea for our own wedding, and quickly morphed into something for others to also enjoy.

As a horse person and a restaurant manager, this project was a passion project for me. This converted Kingston trailer was my very first horse trailer, and I used it for years to haul around my American Quarter Horse, Emily. Although the conversion process was certainly a labor of love, the surprises we uncovered along the way made it all worth it! Upon pulling up the rubber mats and exposing the slat wood floors, we found horse’s names scrawled in children's handwriting. The decision to leave that ode to the trailer's unique history was a no brainer. The live edge wood that makes up the back bar counter was milled in upstate New York and brought back to the island in pieces by our cousin, who was also the carpenter crazy enough to take on this job! Each step of the conversion was a family affair and we look forward to sharing our family’s passion project with your family.

We are so lucky to call the island home and excited for you to celebrate your wedding, anniversary, birthday or other fun life event here on the Vineyard with Rolling Bar MV!
